I would like to cover New Paltz as my beat for many different reasons. First of all, I am without a car so it would be hard for me to travel back and forth to any other community. Additionally, I believe New Paltz can provide many stories with the interesting combination of students and people in the village itself. There are many different places that stories can be found, Murphy’s or P&G’s on a bar night, the numerous pizza shops, Muddy Cup, or by simply walking the streets. Furthermore, the university itself can provide stories, with the numerous events and programs that occur, sporting events or student rallies.
